Adding and Performing Actions

 

1. Open a document in the draft or draft approved register and expand the Actions section.
   • If the document has no Actions section, then its document type has not been set to allow for actions. If you think this is wrong, speak to your Q-Pulse administrator.
2. To edit an existing action click its icon, or click the icon to create a new action.
3. Each action has the following fields:
   • Target Date: The date by which the owner should complete the action.
   • Completed Date: This field cannot be filled in if the document is in the draft register.
   • Owner: The person responsible for completing the action. This field is mandatory.
   • Details: Information for the owner on what work they need to do. This field is mandatory.
   • Response: The owner will enter the work they have performed when they are completing the action. This field cannot be filled in if the document is in the draft register.
4. Click [OK] to save the action. When work can begin on the action (i.e. when it is in the draft approved register), Q-Pulse will notify the owner.

 

Although you can complete actions after they have been activated, this should normally be done when it is in the draft approved register. To complete an action:

 

1. Open a document in the draft approved or active register, then expand the Actions section.
2. Click the icon beside the action you want to complete.
3. Today's date will automatically be added to the Completed By field (although you can change this if required).
4. Enter the work you have performed to complete the action into the Response field, then click [OK] to save.

 

If an action has already been closed but you need to make changes to it, click the icon. Make any changes to the action, then click [OK].
